This pretty much sums it all up. The world and the way we do things is changing at extremely fast rate. This video just makes you realize all the changes that are occuring, which were all very sweet! :) Eat them apples Baurelien(sp?)!!!
I wish that the part about our schools changing would get here sooner than ten years. We are ready for a change now. Our world is adapting, and so should our schools
I think this video "hits the nail on the head." Does it make sense that our world is changing so rapidly and we are expected to adapt and change in every aspect of our lives except for schools? Schools should be changing with the times, so to speak, and there shouldn't be so much scrutiny for us wanting to use technology. All schools should be doing the types of things that the schools in New Brunswick are doing. They are going to be the ones who will be best prepared for the real world, which is a very different place for our generation than it was for any other.
Its about time that somebody realized how fast our world is changing! And that students are capable of wanting to learn. We "millennials" are capable of way more than Bauerlein will ever give us credit for. The time for change was yesterday.
I like this. Students of today are being taught to prepare for the world of yesterday. And teaching us for today isn't even good enough. The world today is changing so rapidly that what were learning today might not be relevant by the time we graduate. What we learn in in our first couple years of college might be completely obsolete to our profession by the time we graduate. The only way this problem can be solved is by creating a form of education that is engaging today and has the ability to change and mold to remain engaging tomorrow. This crazy idea can only be done by using the technology at our disposal, not shooting it down . . . Bauerelin . . . cough cough . . .
Finally a school system that is doing something different the the traditional school system. The schools of yesterday are now becoming far outdated, and we need to realize this and make some changes. Things that worked ten years ago will not work now in this day and age. The game is always changing, and we have the keep changing also.
This is exactly what every school distric should be like. The schools we go to our so outdated, and we would learn a lot more if thye were up to date. Things that were beinificial 15 years ago are not benificial today. We are learning stuff in school today that wont benifit us in the world once we graduate. We are learning stuff that is teaching us for today but we need to be taught for the future. Things are drastically changing so schools need to drasticaly change and prepare us for this. I love this video!!! Wish our school was like this.
I love how this video grasps your attention right away by its' music and just the way that everything flows together. The questions it asks really made me think about how fast things really are changing. The first question it asks is how dramatically is the world changing? It asks when was the last time you used correcting fluid, brought in a film to be developed, used a payphone, or actually got up to change the channel. I can bet that none of us have done these things recently. In the next ten years, blackboards, cds, lockers, grades, text books, and report cards will be obsolete. I find this very interesting becasue who knows what it wil be like in ten years. I love when it says that todays pen and paper has changed and surrounding that little quote is all of the facebook, twitter, youtube, and google icons. Very cool video. :)
I loved this video, if I was able to go to that school i wouldn't mind moving at all! They definitely captured my attention, from the music to have they presented the information (like the when was the last time you..)! Also how they put twitter, facebook, and texting into it, it makes it seem like a school is finally okay with how students in this day of age are being brought up. Using it to their advantage to make the students more engaged, I think it's wonderful! :)
i liked this video. A lot of the things they mentioned i felt like i already new but it seemed like it just hit as i watched. some of the thing were really interesting like the fact that 10th graders are helping engineers develop wind turbines and how the one class was solving the every day physics equations with a R/C car. we do some of those things in physics but nothing to that extent that catches our attention like i think that would. overall i just enjoyed the video and thought it was it was neat what this school is trying to do and think every school needs to try and do more of this. it was also very astonishing to see how fast our world is really changing.
